Christmas

Date: December 27th Thursday Location: Gokarna
Two days ago was Christmas! I got candy and chocolate and books. The books are called: The Oracle; Tales From A Thousand and One Arabian Nights; and K-PAX.
Yesterday we went to the beach! We took the wrong path at first so we got tot the beach a little late. But then we had lots of fun because monster waves were about! We rode the waves for a long time and then we went to shore and made some sand castles around the crab houses making them our subjects. Then we would make a moat or five around and through that because this was right next to a pool of water.
We had lunch and I had Italian Garlic Butter Spaghetti. It was good. Today we are going to go to the beach again. Hopefully there are more big waves.

Later the same day....9:10
Indian food is excellent. Potatoes, lentils, yogurt....the Indians add just the right...something to each one to make it taste the best. Indian restaurants are a vegetarian heaven because most people are Hindu and Hindu rules forbid causing anything hurt. They use spices and herbs and who knows what to make the potatoes in a masala dosa taste so good or the lentils in the Dal Fry go so well with Chapati or the lassis be so creamy and good. I love food Indian style!

New Year's Eve 2007
Today is a typical Gokarnan beach day. We get up after twenty minutes of laying in bed, then go spend too much on strawberry lassis and breakfast. After that we trudge off to the beach. On the way we stop at the bakery and get cinnamon buns. Today there are two. Once we get them we continue walking, past the temple, up the stairs, on to the grassy plateau, down the path, through the gate, to the beach. Then we walk along the beach until we find a good spot to set up our newly purchased sheet on the sand. Then we take off our shoes and shirts and run to the water.
We put our bags further from the water than we usually do, so we stop and walk. We play in the waves and splash. Then we go up on shore and make drip castles and drip walls and drip tower of Pisa out of sand. We alternate between the two until it's time for lunch/snack and go to one of the restaurants on the beach. Today we had pizza and 'chips chilly' which was french fries in a really good sauce.
Then we go back to the water and sand and play some more. Today I drew in the sand with a shell. Then we go back to the hotel. I got an incense holder for Rs 20.
Now I want supper but no one is ready yet.
